<Poem>

<Translation>
ABOVE the sea the bright moon is born
From the horizon it lights up the whole length of heaven,
Passionately I mourn your absence throughout the night
All night long my loving thoughts arise;
I put out my candle in compassion for the light of the moon
I put on my cloak because the dew is heavy;
As I am sorry I cannot fill my hands with moonlight and give it to you
I go back to bed and dream of meeting you again.
